MATT LEWIS FRUSTRATED WITH DELPHI POLITICS

 

Not Impressed with the All -Talk and No - Action Rhetoric of our Elected Officials

 

Canfield, OH - Matt Lewis, candidate for Ohio’s 33rd State Senate seat, shared the frustrations with the other union and salaried Delphi Retirees over the stage-performance of our elected officials at the public hearing at Canfield High School yesterday.“I’m not surprised with the continued in-action of our elected leaders”, commented Matt Lewis. “Exhibitions like this have become the status quo for those people trusted to represent our region. Where were Reps. Ryan and Wilson when the decision was made to cut out these 21,000 employees just because their unions didn’t have the right initials?” Mr. Lewis asked.

 

Mr. Lewis spent time before the hearing talking with those Retirees who are suffering from the decisions made by the Federal Government in the wake of the Auto Industry Bailout. “There is a sense of disbelief after hearing these Retirees stories,” stated Mr. Lewis “These retired workers are living on fixed incomes and need immediate help.” Matt Lewis believes that all our elected representatives from Rep. Tim Ryan down to State Senator Schiavoni should be held responsible for not taking more action in defense of these workers’ rights. Matt went on to say, “This is another example of how our state and federal government is failing and ignoring the citizens. I spoke with many people who handed me copies of letters sent to these politicians. Our State Representation should have been down in Columbus demanding justice and demanding compensation; not writing ‘feel good’ bills.”

 

Matt Lewis is running for State Senate in the 33rd district to end what he calls repeated in-action on the part of our elected officials to defend the rights of working Ohioans in the Mahoning Valley.
